
Cali-based Next Thing wants $50k to finish the development of this tiny computing marvel, which doesn’t seem like a great deal of cash for something that could potentially bring computing and net access to the developing world.
Next Thing’s computer is called “The Chip” and is the size of a debit-card and is set to have a 1GB processor, 512MB of Ram and a 4GB hard drive for storage.
The Chip is built around an Arm, err, chip and includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0
Providing the firm can raise the dough, the plan is to release the £6 computer to market in early 2016.
